SCREWED by Kendall Ryan Chapter Reveal

We are very excited for this brand new standalone from Kendall Ryan.

Releasing on September 15 we get a peek at a sexy romantic comedy from the NYT Bestselling author.

I have one rule: Don’t shit where you eat.

Several of the women in the condo complex I own would love some one-on-one playtime, and why wouldn’t they? I’m young, fit, attractive, and loaded. Not to mention I’m packing a sizable bulge below the belt. It’s a combination that drops panties on a regular basis.

Yay, me, right?

But my cock, troublemaker that he is, has been confined to my trousers by my business partner. A concession I agreed to, and one that’s never been hard to enforce until Emery moves in across the hall. She’s smart, young, determined, and sexy as hell. I want a taste. I won’t stop until I’m buried deep inside the succulent new-in-town brunette.

After being warned about my past, she does her best to steer clear, but I’m about to show her that underneath it all, I’m a guy with a heart of gold and a cock of steel.

My name is Hayden Oliver, and this is my story.

SCREWED is standalone romantic comedy by New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author Kendall Ryan.

Chapter One
Hayden

Goddamn. This is going to be harder than I thought.
My eyes swing over to admire the most perfect pear-shaped ass I’ve ever had the pleasure of laying eyes on while my business partner Hudson continues lecturing me. I think it’s something important, but there’s nothing more urgent than my body’s reaction to this shapely brunette. Jesus. Those tits are definitely real.
“I mean it. Your cock is cut off this time,” Hudson says roughly, his tone biting.
Tearing my gaze away from the succulent new brunette moving into unit 4B, I face him. “Not literally cut off. I’m sort of attached to him. You realize that, right?”
“Well it’s on lock down then. No more of this bullshit. I had three calls this week alone from hysterical women – our tenants – who you, how do I put this delicately? You fucked and then left before their pussies were even dry.”
I smirk at him, but I can’t deny the accusation. We’re like the real life Melrose Place. Sexy young twenty-somethings all living in close proximity. There’s bound to be a little drama now and again. Together, Hudson and I own thirty buildings in the greater Los Angeles area. And some of our buildings have very fuckable tenants. Up until this point, I’d considered that a nice bonus, and a perk of the job. Hudson has apparently viewed it differently.
“Who’s that?” I ask, tipping my head toward the bombshell who’s responsible for all the blood rushing to my groin. Fuck. I should have a word with her about that, that’s not cool.
Hudson’s eyes swing to the left to see what, or rather, who has captured my attention. And who’s given me this semi-chub, which I hope he hasn’t noticed. We’re close, but we’re not that close.
“No, no, no. Don’t get any ideas. You’re not tagging that.”
She’s not close enough to overhear us, but I shoot him a scowl anyway. “Show some class, man. Tagging is such a juvenile word. I’d take my time, get her hot and ready first, until she was begging for me to fill her tight, little cunt.”
“I’m fucking serious. You’re not to even think about her tight cunt.”
“So you acknowledge she’s got a tight cunt?” I smile, proud of myself.
He wipes sweat from his brow, looking worried. “Hayden, I’m serious this time.” His voice has taken on a somber tone, and for once, I try to be serious and focus.
Watching the way the vein throbs in his neck, my smile fades. We’re standing outside of one of our nicest buildings just outside of downtown, and the mid-afternoon sun is beating down on us. Suddenly I want to get away from him, and away from this entire conversation and into the cool air conditioning inside. Shit has gotten a little too real for me.
“You know me,” I grin at him, trying to lighten the mood. “I just wanted to have some casual fun.” And if that meant sleeping my way through the LA singles scene, so be it. I’m not looking for something deeper. I have a luxury condo in the heart of the Hollywood Hills, drive a new model BMW and possess a nine-inch cock. Translation: Life is good. Or it was, until Hudson decided to get a bug up his ass and lay down the law today.
“Did you hear a word I just said? One of your latest conquests threatened to report our company to the Better Business Bureau for unethical business practices. This isn’t just about you. This affects me too. And I’ll be damned if I watch everything we’ve built go down in flames because you can’t keep your dick in your pants.”
“Point taken.” Hudson is pretty much the best friend, and best business partner you could ask for. He’s smart as hell, dedicated, works like a dog day and night. And not to mention when we began our real estate investment company five years ago, he single-handedly fronted all the start-up capital from his own savings and trust fund. It took me years to pay him back as the profits rolled in, and he never once made me feel lesser, or like I was in debt to him. Not to mention, he’s funny, well-off, and good looking. He’s an excellent wing-man. Plus he knows the best taco joints.
Unable to help myself, my eyes drift over to her again. 4B fills out a pair of yoga pants in ways that I doubt are even legal in most countries. I needed to know what was underneath those curve-hugging black athletic pants. Simple cotton panties, or a naughty g-string? Either way, I wanted to bury my fingers inside the waistband of those pants, peel them down her hips and find out. Perhaps it was because Hudson just made her forbidden fruit, but I wanted a taste. My damn mouth was practically watering.
She looked smart, and put together, despite her casual attire, including a tank top and tennis shoes. With a clipboard in one hand, and her trusty number two pencil in the other, she ticked items off of her list, and instructed the movers who were unloading and carrying boxes up to her new place – which just so happened to be directly underneath mine.
“You’re not going to last three minutes let alone three days.” Hudson grimaces, glancing over again at our newest resident.
“What do you know about her?”
He rolls his eyes, but humors me. “Emery Elaine Winters. She’s an attorney. Excellent references. Even better credit score, and she signed a one year lease. And she’s to remain in pristine condition, or so help me God …”
When I glance up at her again, I see Roxy, another of our residents has joined Emery on the sidewalk, and they appear to be making small talk. Shaking hands, exchanging words, and smiling at each other. There’s something I strongly dislike about these two women talking. Roxy is an exotic dancer, and she I have a bit of a rocky past. Which is a huge fucking understatement, but not something I care to dwell on now. Hudson mentions something about fourth quarter taxes, and I tune him out, sure I just heard my name on Roxy’s over-glossed lips.
“Excuse me, I’ve got business to attend to.” I step around him, heading straight toward my new prize. Roxy spots me, and takes off for the parking area.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Hudson calls after me.
“Just being neighborly. Someone’s got to properly welcome Miss Winters.”
“Dammit, Hayden,” I hear him shout.
“I’ve got this, buddy,” I shout back over my shoulder.
I can control myself around her. I have to, according to Hudson. I don’t like being told what to do, especially where my cock was concerned, and hell, it’ll probably only make me want her more, but as I close the distance between Emery and me, I make a plan.
Friends.
I would become friends with the so-hot-I-wanted-to-bend-her-over-and-fuck-her-in-broad-daylight new girl.
This was either the best plan I’d ever had, or would end with me sporting a black eye, courtesy of my best friend.
It’s go time.

They say that your school years are supposed to be the best years of your life, and that you should make the most of them because you’ll miss them when you’re all grown up. Up until Maisie Preston’s senior year, she would have totally agreed with that statement. Life was great; she had everything going for her, excellent grades, great parents, an annoying yet caring twin brother, and an impossibly sweet boyfriend. Everything was perfect — that is until the arrival of Zach Anderson. A misfit delinquent that seemed to bring with him a lot of bad karma. Is it just a coincidence that his arrival marks a significant change in Maisie’s life? Up until senior year, life was perfect, but things seem to be going downhill fast. This is a companion novel for ‘Always You’ — though this novel stands alone so there is no need to read Always You first.

cooltext129126644141686   Kirsty Moseley has always been a passionate reader since she was a little girl, devouring books overnight, barely sleeping and paying for it at school the next day. Writing has come similarly to her and once she discovered Wattpad, she finally plucked up the courage to post one of her stories. Seven million reads later, she self-published her debut novel THE BOY WHO SNEAKS IN MY BEDROOM WINDOW, which later became one of 10 Finalists for the 2012 Goodreads' Choice Awards, Best YA Fiction. Shocked and overwhelmed by the response, she published her second novel ALWAYS YOU a few months later. If she had to sum herself up in one word, it would probably be 'daydreamer' - but unlike most of her school teachers, she doesn't necessarily view that as a bad thing. After all, she read somewhere once that books are like waking dreams.... She lives in Norfolk, England with her husband and son. cooltext129126698059480

Review: Baked Fresh

Title: Baked Fresh
Author: Annabeth Albert
Synopsis: From its famous coffee to the mouthwatering fare at its cafés, restaurants, and bakeries, Portland, Oregon, has a lot to whet the appetite, including the hard-working men who serve it all up—hot, fresh, and ready to go—with no reservations… Vic Degrassi is a baker on the rise, and it’s all thanks to his rare ability to make—and keep—his New Year’s resolutions. Whether it’s losing weight, giving up smoking, or graduating from culinary school, Vic goes after what he wants—and gets it. This year? He wants Robin Dawson, the sweet-hearted hottie who volunteers with him at the local homeless shelter. When he learns that Robin is suddenly single after being unceremoniously dumped, Vic is more than happy to offer a shoulder to cry on—or at least a fresh-baked pastry to bite into. But it’s been a long time since Vic’s gone on a date, and he’s nervous about risking his friendship with Robin. So when their flirtation turns into a steamy night together, Vic and Robin have to figure out if they’re friends with benefits or lovers in the making, and if Robin is ready for something more than just a rebound. There’s only one way to find out: turn up the heat…
My Review:

I picked  Baked Fresh to read because I was in need of some sweet M/M romance but what I didn't knew was that it was going to make me crave the connection that the main characters have. Usually m/m books more times than other focus on the hot sex, but this one went beyond that. For sure there is amazingly hot scenes but what really made me love this book was the deep feelings that the whole story made me feel.

The characters are so believable and real with their every day struggles and insecurities, which made me really think about the body shaming society we currently live on where showing perfection is a must to be successful. Which is absolutely unfair. I adored Robin and Vic. How they faced their fears and insecurities to become stronger and powerful. I enjoyed all the baking references, it made Vic seems more real and approachable.

Can't wait to read the next book in the series!

My Review:
When I read the first book in the Break on Trough series, I quite liked it and I was definitely interested to find out who are going to be the main characters in the next book. Well, I have to say that I definitely didn't expect Kyle and Sam. But I can definitely say that I was pleasantly surprised. The story is interesting and quite good. Personally, I liked the second part of the book much more than the first one and in my opinion it quite saved the book for me. That's not to say that the first part was bad. It was sweet and romantic but it was just missing something. Probably because I am a sucker for a dangerous and suspenseful story and I found exactly that in the second part.

Kyle Masterson is the ultimate player. And that's not a surprise considering his dark hair, mesmerizing green eyes and stylish looks. He definitely knows how to seduce a woman and the fact that he is a god in the bedroom is definitely in his advantage. He changes women as often as he can but that all changes the moment he meets Sam. Something in her calms him down and she is the only one who can stop his constantly working mind to slow down. With her he finally finds peace and for a first time in his life he sees a happy future. In the beginning he looked like quite the stylish rich guy and I definitely didn't expect him to have a little bit darker and dominant side. I was definitely pleasantly surprised and just loved when he showed his protective side. It was quite hot knowing that he is ready to do anything to protect the woman he loves :)

Sam was quite an interesting character in her own right. Her life is shook from the roots after a tragic accident throws her in a dark place. It takes months for her to finally get out of the dark place she lived for months. Meeting Kyle helps her to find her inner strength and start living again. In him she finds her perfect other half and the only man she could see herself spending the rest of her life with.

In a few words, this is a quite good short read. It has an interesting and entertaining romantic story with a taste of suspense and danger. And in addition to that you get a sexy bad boy layer with a dominant and protective nature. All in all quite a good bargain and a great read for the summer months ;)

Bad Boys Monday: Dylan St. John

It's been quite some time since we posted a new Bad Boys Monday for all of you to drool over, so here I may present you with Dylan St. John!

He is the main male character of Badass in My Bed by Rae Lynn Blaise, which was 5 star rating for me. The first time the female character meets him, he is just Tattooed Guy a hot stranger sitting at the end of the bar. Later on he becomes Dylan, the badass tattoed guy that got Rachel to do wicked things in the bedroom. But who is really Dylan aka. Tattooed Badass Guy?

Dylan St. John is the lead singer of the newly successfully rock band named Fallen Angels. He has dark hair, his eyes are inset, his jaw and nose strong, his face it's strikingly stunning and his moth is the perfect combination of wickedly hot sex and forbidden desire. He is sinfully sexy with his rock hard body and skillful antics in the bedroom. But as any other Bad Boy out there he has a sweeter side that just a few know about, and even though I appreciated some of it on the 1st book I can't wait to read the next one to discover all of him!

Review: Finding Gabriel

Title: Finding Gabriel
Author: Rachel L. Demeter
Synopsis: Colonel Gabriel de Laurent departed for the war intending to die. After a decade of bloodstained battlegrounds while fighting in Napoleon's army, Gabriel returns to the streets of Paris a shattered and haunted soul. Plagued by inner demons, he swallows the barrel of his flintlock pistol and pulls the trigger. But fate has a different plan. Ariah Larochelle is a survivor. Orphaned at twelve and victim to a devastating crime, she has learned to keep her back to walls and to trust no one. But when she finds a gravely injured soldier washed up on the River Seine, she's moved by compassion. In spite of her reservations, she rescues him from the icy water and brings him into her home. Now scarred inside and out, Gabriel discovers a kindred spirit in Ariah—and feelings he imagined lost forever reawaken as he observes her strength in the face of adversity. But when Ariah's own lethal secrets unfold, their new love is threatened by ancient ghosts. Can Gabriel and Ariah find hope in the wreckage of their pasts—or will the cycle of history repeat again? Perfect for fans of Gaelen Foley's Lord of Ice and Judith James's Broken Wing, Finding Gabriel features all the dark romance, searing passion, and historical intrigue of The Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables.

My Review:

This is the first book I've read by Rachel L. Demeter and I have to say that I am really impressed. I must confess that when Momentum sent me a copy of Finding Gabriel I initially picked it for review for the hot model in the cover xD Don't judge me I'm kind of a cover addict. But after reading the blurb I knew had to dive in its pages. And I am really glad I gave it a chance because its been months since I read such a good historical novel.  It is accurate in its historical events and I love that it doesn't focus just on the romance story but also takes her time to, as I said before, made every little fall into place with the historical accuracy.

This story is full of despair, anger and darkness. It deals with PTSD when it wasn't even diagnosed and shows us the struggle of depression but also how a moment or a someone can change everything by bringing light into the darkness. Mental illness or just a traumatic past can influence life in such a way that it's even harder than body scars itself. That's what Rachel L.Demeter tries to show in Gabriel's character who is both physically and mentally scarred after a tough life. Ariah, the female character, has also deep wounds that have marked her as a person. And miraculously both characters together with the help of young Emmaline will help each other shining light in each others darkness, turning despair into hope, anger into happiness and darkness into brightness.
There are really sad parts in this book that made me shed tears uncontrollably for the injustices of life, specially at that time when women rights were practically nonexistent. There were twists and turns in the plot that got me glued to my computer screen for hours wanting to know what will happen. I would really recommend this book to all romance lovers wanting to experience a bit of a change with a rough but lovable war hero that faces his hardest battle till date trying to win his happily ever after with the woman he loves.

Review: Tight by Alessandra Torre

Title:Tight
Author: Alessandra Torre
Synopsis: I was happy in my small town. In my life as a single, thirty-two year old woman. I had a good job, wonderful friends, my independence. I also hadn't got laid in three years. Hadn't been on a date in two. Had stopped counting calories and wearing makeup... a while ago. Then Brett Jacobs waltzed in. Caressed my thigh, dug rough fingers into my hair, lowered his soft mouth to my skin, took sexual control of my mind and stirred it all around with what he packed in his pants. He flipped my quiet life upside down and crawled into a place in my heart I thought was dead. The issue is his secret. The issue is her. The issue is that I don't even know she exists, and he thinks she's dead. The issue is that shit is about to hit the fan and I can't hold on to him tight enough.
My Review:
This is the first book I've read by Alessandra Torre and I decided to dove in because Scribd was going to remove it from its catalog and since this author has been on my TBR list for already quite some time, it was worth a peek.

I went for it without knowing what I would encounter, and I have to say that it was a hell of a ride. This was a really suspenseful read, full of twists and turns. It really surprised me how the author managed to trick me into believing all the different plots that were growing in my head. I was kind of lost while reading some parts of the book because it was absolutely full of surprises, and when that happens it is certainly a sign of really good writing. All the mystery around the characters lives and its complexity.
